We have kept in clean with  a large (22 x 19cm) solid timber Santa hat tray. Use it  to hold  any sensory base. Lots of open ended play options with this one - you can use a timber scoop to collect corn kernels and divide into tray sections, or even colour sort. 
 
Being a larger sized tray, it can be repurposed for other Christmas play - play dough stations, sensory tubs or even a kitchen/cafe.
